Madewell Try-On: Spring Trends

Madewell always has some of my favorite items each season, and many of my most-loved pieces are from them! I stopped by this week to try-on a few things I have been admiring from behind my screen. They are currently having a sale: 20% off if you spend $100 and 30% off if you spend $200 with the code Spend2Save (Ends April 8th!).

The first piece I’d been eyeing is this Botanical Embroidered Bell-Sleeve Sweatshirt. I love the fun twist on the classic and ever-so-clichéd springtime floral print.

*Cue that scene in The Devil Wears Prada.*

The print is fantastic, but I’m not sure I love the bell sleeves with that sweatshirt material.

Still… the pattern might win me over!! It’s soooo cute!

I’m wearing an XS here, and I’d say it runs large (like most Madewell pieces, IMO!).

It does look mighty cute with these pastel pants. I wouldn’t call pastels a spring trend… more like a spring duh. But I am obsessed nonetheless!

Once January hits, I’m always immediately ready to transition from deep, rich holiday colors into the light and airy springtime palette.

These Rainbow Windowpane Emmett pants have such a cute pattern. I’ve yet to jump on the Emmett bandwagon (as I’m still slowly transitioning into wide-leg pants, about five years late), but I almost pulled the trigger on these. They’re currently on sale for $69.99. Unfortunately, they only had a 28, and I’m usually a 27 in Madewell jeans.

I’m into these Emmett pants, but I will say that I much prefer the fit of the Everlane Wide-Leg Chino. This week I’m testing them out in pale blue for an upcoming blog post.

When you’re a curvier gal like myself, you have to feel really confident in your wide-leg pants! So only pick the ones you love!

What I really fell in love with is this Rainbow-Trim Gladwell Balloon-Sleeve Pullover Sweater. It’s also on sale for $69.99! I’m definitely going to snag this once I can get my total up to $100 for that amazing deal. So now they’re sitting in my cart until I can make a decision.

Madewell does some things really well - I always love their jeans and sweaters. But sometimes their quality is really low. I rarely find dresses that seem “worth the price.” However, this Peekaboo-Sleeve-Mid-Dress in Hillside Daisies stole my heart.

Again, they didn’t have my correct size (this is an 8), but I really love the fit, pattern, and colors.

And last, but certainly not least, I am always a sucker for gingham! I love love LOVE this Gingham Tie-Back Baseball Hat. I have kind of a big head (literally, hopefully not figuratively!), and it’s rare for me to find a hat that isn’t too small / doesn’t make my head look enormous.

Plus, I just love hats for the summer because they’re so casual and laid back, especially with crisp, white sneakers. Such a fun, easy look.

I paired all of my pieces with these Nisolo Mariella Mules in Sand, which I just so happened to be wearing, but I have to say they looked pretty good with everything! I have always wanted to live near a Madewell, so it’s really nice to be able to visit one on the reg.

Are you eyeing anything from their current sale?

Think I should add any of these pieces to my wardrobe?
